At the end of June, our Manager of Laboratory and Testing Facilities and MT member, Ferry Zuijderwijk, will retire after a distinguished career that has left a lasting mark on IGT and the paper industry at large.
Ferry’s journey began on the mill floor — first at Parenco, then at Berghuizer mill — giving him a deep, hands-on understanding of papermaking that few can match. When he joined IGT, he brought that knowledge with him and never stopped sharing it. Whether it was quality management of our production processes, driving R&D forward, or sitting across the table from a customer who needed answers, Ferry was the person in the room who simply knew.
His product correlation expertise was, in every sense of the word, encyclopaedic. Colleagues and customers alike have relied on it for years, and those who attended customer visits with him will know exactly what we mean: a calm authority, a precise answer, and an instinct for what really matters in a measurement.
Ferry, we are grateful for everything you have brought to IGT. We wish you a retirement as rich and well-earned as your career.
We are pleased that Ferry will be succeeded by Eng. Aleksandra Neclaw, MSc, who takes on the role of Manager Laboratory and Testing Facilities.
We look forward to introducing her to our customers and partners in the coming months.
